The engine with manifolds is 1' 11 1/2" wide. The shock towers are 2' 1/2" wide.
Well, okay, I'll probably tweak them a bit. That, and moving the engine back will clear some more space, though that means moving the brake and accel pedals over. Gonna have about a 1'4" footwell at the bottom.

I do know for a fact that a 351W with headers fits into a 1963 Ranchero.

Well, I knew a 289 would, and I knew from 1:25 scale models that a 4.2 Rover *probably* would. I also know that a 427 chebby fits, because AMT-Ertl made a model based off a real-life occurrence of such, but what baboonfuckery was required for that is somewhat unclear, as the model's details are... lacking.
The Rover V-8's stock manifolds are roughly equal-length and pretty free-flow with fairly long runners - despite being casts, I very well might pass on dicking with them.

I've thought about how cool a Rover V8 swap would be in a Mustang. The aluminum, small-displacement V8 just seem like it would work well with the overall theme of my Mustang.

If I neglected to mention, I'm using the stock fuel rails and injectors and building a Hilborn-looking ITB setup with stacks, becauseracecar. Since it's an EFI system I'm bastardizing, though, I'll be running it with a Megasquirt, so it will be pretty driveable day-to-day. Nothing going into this is supposed to be past ~'68 visually and thematically speaking, including the IRS (Jaguar 60's sedan), Rover V-8 (Buick '61), BW T-10 trans. I want it to be roughly what some genuinely crazy guy could have built in the mid-60s, short of the EFI concession.

Noice! I really, really want to put some Weber-looking stack injectors on the 'Stang. It would take it being something like a Rover V8 to be any cooler.

I had some clever/really stupid pun thought up a while back regarding the extent I'm Britishizing it, but it's long forgotten.
